Making e-waste, making art, because the dump doesn't want it...

Global waste from electrical equipment arising from PCs, mobile phones and televisions will be around 5,504,737 tonnes in 2010 & 9,762,935 tonnes by 2016. About 80-85% of discarded electronics are disposed of...

The Members' Show is always a fun exhibition; whether it is transforming chairs, or making edible art or even taking a Clean Slate and doing something fantastic with it. This year is no exception as we tackle the big subject of E-Waste. One of our brilliant members sent us this idea after her investigation of making books from e-waste (new term for anything digital that no longer works, such as cameras, printers, pc's, phones, etc) but this waste can be transformed into any kind of art instead of going to landfill.

This annual group exhibition, featuring e-works created by Umbrella members, will run from 20 November - 24 January 2010.
